Walking Trails/Saugatuck Valley
Trails:
Through the joint effort by the Aspectuck Land Trust, Inc., Bridgeport
Hydraulic Company (BHC), the Connecticut Audubon Society, The Nature Conservancy, the
Redding Land Trust, the towns of Weston and Redding and many land owners, the Saugatuck
Valley Trails are open to the public.
The majority of these trails are within the BHC public water supply
watershed. Property owners and visitors within the watershed have a stake in
protecting the watershed from erosion and pollution. The water which drains from the
land can eventually enter the public water supply as well as local homeowners'
wells. Therefore, protecting the watershed environment is critical for preserving
the public health of the region.
We hope you enjoy the many natural and historic points of interest and
respect the beauty of this environment. For more information on maps and trails call the
BHC at (203) 337-5910 or (203) 226-4991.
